While I like the fashion of Denim visually, I love the fact that it was once a fabric of a particular class, but today it addresses any soul and life regardless of age. I mean, having different foundations in every branch of fashion makes fashion meaningful for me.
Fashion Photographer
How did you start your career as a fashion photographer?
My passion for photography began as a child. That’s why I chose graphics. The period when this job turned into a career, began when I started to work as an assistant to Hasan Huseyin. In the 2000’s, I started to actualize my fashion photography.
How would you describe fashion photography?
I believe that you can do fashion photography by perceiving fashion outside of dressing. In other words, the idea of transforming aesthetics and avant-garde currents into a visual show in a single frame, including thought, culture, behavior, makeup, technology, interior architecture, is the main story behind this. When I look at the subject merely from the lens of fashion, I get the feeling that some of the characters of the story are omitted.
Imagination, inspiration, and frame … How do visualize the correlation between these three?
Intuitive behavior, resolution of light and space equation, creativity will remain at the forefront than in photography. Of course, inspiration and imagination are important but I don’t think it is possible to get a good frame that fits into the quadrage without the remaining 3 I have counted.
Is there any model or designer that you desire to work with?
I would like to work with all local or foreign designers who do not hesitate to take risks for previously unaccomplished works. I can’t really say there’s a specific model I would like to work with.
Are you taking pictures along with fashion in other areas such as art, sports, nature?
I want to make an exhibition in the next 10 years and take photographs for ‘’ art only ‘’ but I’m currently doing commercial photography. So the answer to your question is yes, I’m taking photos in other areas, but for the time being, they’re just being accumulated in my personal archive.
What does fashion mean to you? What are your thoughts on Denim clothing and Denim fashion?
As I just said, I don’t constrain fashion to just dressing. There are a lot of other essentials in it. While I like the fashion of Denim visually, I love the fact that it was once a fabric of a particular class, but today it addresses any soul and life regardless of age. I mean, having different foundations in every branch of fashion makes fashion meaningful for me.
Do you have any projects you plan to implement recently? If yes, what are they like?
I am preparing for new collaborations and shootings. There are also ongoing brand shots. They are coming soon 🙂
