BURSA TEXTILE SHOW BEYOND EXPECTATIONS

Organized by Bursa CCI and hosting prominent representatives in textile business, Bursa Textile Fair received local and foreign visitors’ thumbs up in its first year. In Bursa Textile Show, more than 80 local companies opened stands and exhibited 2019/20 Autumn/Winter Collections of textiles; foreign visitors showed great interest for high quality products made in Bursa by setting trend and fashion.

More Than 5.000 B2B Meetings were conducted during Bursa Textile Show

Under the leadership of Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and with the support of Uludağ Textile Exporters’ Association; Bursa Textile Show was organized this year for the first time and covered the expectations of the sector representatives. During the fair, more than 5.000 B2B meetings were organized with the participation of Bursa companies as well as almost 350 foreign buyers coming from 50 different countries to Bursa, and these set the ground for significant cooperations.

Procurement committee organizatıon gained an identıty as a fair

Mr. İbrahim Burkay, the President of Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that four different procurement committee organizations have been organized so far within the scope of International Competitiveness Development Project for Textile Industry carried out by Bursa CCI with the financial supports of the Ministry of Trade. He also stated that Bursa CCI makes available to conduct B2B meetings with the participation of both project member companies as well as almost 1.000 foreign buyers coming from different countries to participate in procurement committee organizations in Bursa; this year, the organization developed an identity as a fair organization for the first time. Under the name of Bursa Textile Show, the organization welcomed more than 350 foreign buyers coming from 50 countries, and more than 5.000 B2B meetings were conducted during the fair, as Mr. Burkay said. App. 60 B2B meetings were conducted per company. And almost 50% of them has had the potential of having favourable results.

Booster For The Sector

Stating that Bursa Textile Show gets Bursa and textile industry in Bursa stronger, Mr. İbrahim Burkay expressed that it creates synergy for the sector. He said “Known as the capital city of the textile industry, Bursa was in need of having such an organization, and starved for it. Companies in Bursa had only chance to participate sector fairs that could be organized especially in different cities in both Turkey and foreign countries.It is important to initiate it in Bursa and shapes the sector’s future. I would like to thank all participators and visitors.”

Rezervatıons Have Already Made For The Next Year

Mr. Engin Alemdar, the head of 39th Professional committee of Bursa CCI, and Chairman of the company “Fabra Textile”, said that significant business cooperations have been formed during the fair in which qualified buyers participated. Expressing that Fair was really fruitful for the sector, Mr. Alemdar said “All went to plan during the fair. It was a point shot. Besides almost 350 foreign business people who came to Bursa under the leadership of Bursa CCI and with the financial supports of Republic of Turkey – Ministry of Trade; many foreign buyers came to Bursa to attend fair through their own means. Many reservations have already made for the fair that will be organized on April 2019 for the second time.”

Enthusiasm Of The Europeans For The Fair

The companies are pleased with the interest of foreign buyers. Mr. Semih Kaynar, the General Manager of Ventsa Textile, said that Bursa Textile Show contributed to promote the potential of the sector and he believes it will pick up steam within the next years. Mr. Kaynar said “Bursa CCI had invited the most important foreign buyers to the fair. I believe that we can make cooperations with these foreign companies for many years. I would like to thank those who contributed greatly to the fair.” Mr. Aziz Azizoglu working for Ayazmalı Textile stated that they have participated in a procurement committee organization for the first time under the leadership of Bursa CCI and said “We have exported to Romania for the first time in our company’s history. It was really an important experience for us.” Especially people coming from European countries showed great interest in Bursa Textile Show. It was really satisfactory.” Mr. Kerim Tanık who works for Satenteks said that the foreign buyers coming from different countries were right choices for the sector. And the fair opened new doors for cooperation and exportation.

Foreign Buyers Were Pleased With The Fair

Business people coming from especially European Countries and Russia, Belarus, Serbia as well as Colombia, India, Peru, Brazil, South Africa, and Canada ensured participation to the fair and paid a great deal of attention. Amelia Rosa Visser coming from Cape Town said that she came to Bursa for the second time. She said “I participated in B2B meetings that was organized last year. I was really impressed a lot by the products I saw there. So I decided to come to Bursa once more. It is an exciting experience for me to be here. I will visit the city within next years.” Ms. Diana Walkiewicz said “when compared to Fair organized in Paris, It was a little bit smaller, but, really well-organized. We found what we searched. Bursa is the capital of high-quality and low-priced products.”
